The final, featuring Real Madrid against Borussia Dortmund, follows serious incidents in the previous two Champions League finals. UEFA faced heavy criticism for security lapses in 2022, where Liverpool and Madrid fans were trapped in crushing queues in Paris, and for transportation issues at last year's event in Istanbul.

This weekend's event will see the largest-ever deployment of stewards at Wembley — 2,500 in total. The security enhancements, costing 5 million pounds ($6.3 million), include new gates and perimeter fencing, improved door locks, and a state-of-the-art internal control room to better monitor fan activity. Stewards will also be equipped with body cameras for added vigilance.
