Mumbai police booked a man for allegedly using a drone without authorization to video record the Dharavi Premier League cricket tournament, officials reported Saturday.
The event took place at the RPF Ground on Friday, and a local resident alerted authorities to the unauthorized drone activity, confirmed the Shahunagar police station official.
Organizers had tasked the man with filming and photographing the event, but he neglected to secure necessary official permissions. As a result, he faces charges under IPC section 188 for disobeying an official order. While he has been served a notice, he has not been arrested, the official added.
This incident follows a recent Mumbai police order restricting drone use within the city.
