Kejriwal Faces ED's Wrath: Interim Bail Decision Awaited

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is anxiously awaiting a court's decision on his interim bail plea based on medical grounds. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has staunchly opposed the plea, citing his active nationwide campaign efforts during the Lok Sabha elections despite his health claims.

Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener, must surrender at Tihar jail by Sunday. His interim bail, initially granted by the Supreme Court to facilitate his election campaign, expired on June 1. The court's verdict on his plea is now reserved for June 5.

The 2021-22 excise policy-linked case has embroiled Kejriwal in accusations of corruption and money laundering. The judge emphasized that the plea focuses solely on interim bail for medical reasons, rather than an extension of the previously granted relief.
