The leaders' first official meeting in Niue culminated in a Joint Statement, reinforcing the significance of their shared constitutional ties and the multifaceted connections between their nations.

In a landmark announcement, Prime Minister Luxon unveiled New Zealand's investment of NZ$20.5 million in a groundbreaking energy project for Niue. This initiative is set to revolutionize the island's power generation, enabling 80% of its electricity to be sourced from renewable energy, thereby reducing dependency on costly diesel imports, cutting living costs, and curbing greenhouse gas emissions.

Additionally, Niue's sustainable future is further secured with a NZ$2 million contribution to the Niue Ocean Wide Trust. This funding aims to nurture a resilient blue economy and promote enduring ocean conservation and climate resilience.

These ventures, funded by New Zealand's International Development Cooperation programme, mark a significant step towards a sustainable and interconnected future for Niue, celebrating a milestone anniversary with innovation and shared vision.
