Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declared he would decide on the future of Minister B Nagendra following dialogues with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and senior Cabinet colleagues concerning allegations tied to an illegal money transfer scam.
Opposition BJP intensified pressure on Siddaramaiah's Congress government by protesting from Vidhana Soudha to Raj Bhavan and urging Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to demand Nagendra’s resignation.
The scandal surfaced after Chandrashekhar P, an accounts superintendent at the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation, died by suicide on May 26, exposing an unauthorized Rs 187 crore transfer, with Rs 88.62 crore allegedly funneled to IT companies and a Hyderabad bank.
