Outrage in Tripura: Statues of Rajiv Gandhi and Cultural Activist Vandalised

A statue of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was discovered vandalised in Tripura's Unakoti district, raising political tensions. Congress MLA Birajit Sinha has accused BJP-backed groups of the act. The statue, a memorial since 2009, was severely damaged.
Sinha condemned the incident, labelling it a cowardly act and demanded immediate arrests. Further unrest was reported with the vandalisation of a CPI(M) party office following Lok Sabha election results.
In another incident, a statue of Himadri Deb, a prominent cultural activist, was also damaged. Sinha vehemently condemned these acts of vandalism and called for stronger law enforcement.
