Massive Manhunt Launched After Terror Attack on Jammu Pilgrims

Intensive efforts continue to track down terrorists involved in a deadly attack on pilgrims in Jammu's Reasi district. Security forces have set a high alert and are conducting thorough searches. Multiple teams, including various agencies, are involved in the manhunt, following leads and suspecting terrorist involvement directed by Pakistan's ISI.

Intensive efforts continued on Tuesday to track down terrorists involved in a deadly attack on pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. According to officials, 11 teams of security personnel have laid a multi-directional cordon around the Poni-Treyath belt.

A high alert has been sounded in the Jammu and Rajouri districts, with intensified checking and frisking in place. The attack, which left nine dead and 41 injured, prompted security forces to step up operations. Over 20 people have been brought in for questioning.

The terrorists opened fire on a 53-seater bus en route from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine on Sunday. The bus, carrying pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi, plunged into a gorge following gunfire. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range, Rayees Mohammad Bhat, stated that security forces are working on leads to neutralize the terrorists. Teams are also deploying surveillance equipment, including drones, and sniffer dogs to aid the combing operation. National security agencies have joined the probe.
