In a determined push for tribal rights, Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren on Tuesday mandated that officials expedite the enforcement of court decrees favoring tribals in land disputes. He stressed resolving all cases under the SC-ST Act on a priority basis.
During a high-level meeting, Soren instructed that government benefits reach promptly to the survivors of fallen soldiers. He emphasized maintaining law and order and called for stringent measures against crime, drug trafficking near educational institutions, and unlawful opium cultivation.
The directive follows criticism from the Jharkhand High Court on the state’s handling of drug trafficking issues. Soren insisted on robust urban patrolling and legal actions against professional criminals to ensure the safety of citizens.
