Diksha Tiwari, a 26-year-old recent medical graduate, died in the early hours of Thursday after falling into an air vent on the fifth floor of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Medical College, Kanpur. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident to determine whether it was an accident, suicide, or an act of foul play.

ACP Shikhar revealed that Diksha had gone to the fifth floor along with two fellow students when she suddenly fell into the duct. The two friends rushed her to a hospital, where she was declared dead. Both friends have been detained for further questioning.

Dr Richa Giri, officiating principal of the medical college, confirmed that Diksha had completed her MBBS studies in March and had allegedly gone to the fifth floor for some work. An investigation is ongoing to ascertain the exact cause of her tragic demise.
