Chennai Customs Seize Gold Worth Rs 1.67 Crore at Airport
Over 2,500 grams of gold worth Rs 1.67 crore was seized at Chennai airport in three separate cases. The Chennai Air Customs Air Intelligence Unit recovered the precious metal from passengers arriving from Malaysia and Abu Dhabi. One person has been arrested, and investigations are ongoing.

In a significant crackdown, the Chennai Air Customs has seized over 2,500 grams of gold valued at Rs 1.67 crore in three distinct incidents at the airport.
The Air Intelligence Unit recovered consignments of 710 grams, 1,056 grams, and 900 grams of gold from passengers who had arrived from Malaysia and Abu Dhabi on June 17 and 18.
One individual has been detained, and further investigations are underway across all cases, according to a press release issued by the Chennai Air Customs.
