Nabam Vivek, a newly elected legislator from the People’s Party of Arunachal, pledged to prioritize resolving the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border dispute in his Doimukh constituency. Despite a 2022 agreement, villagers in Doimukh have raised objections to the boundary demarcation.

On Saturday, Vivek urged Chief Minister Pema Khandu to reconstitute the regional committee immediately to reach a consensus among villagers in both states and finalize the boundary line.

The 51-year-old legislator emphasized his commitment to addressing the boundary issue, noting the Assam-Arunachal border's significant length and the ground-level challenges. Post-poll, resolving this dispute remains a key promise.
