Tripura CM Strengthens Ties with Bangladesh via Sweet Pineapple Gesture

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha sent 500 kilograms of queen pineapples to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, aiming to enhance bilateral relations. This gesture, facilitated through the Akhura Integrated Check Post, is a continuation of last year's exchange of fruits between the leaders, symbolizing their deep-rooted bond.

As a significant goodwill gesture, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha dispatched 500 kilograms of queen pineapples to Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this Sunday. The dispatch was made through the Akhura Integrated Check Post (ICP), symbolizing a sweet diplomatic overture.

''Under Chief Minister Manik Saha's initiative, 500 kg of queen pineapples were sent to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 100 packets, with each packet containing six pineapples weighing 750 grams each. This variety is considered among the finest globally,'' stated Dipak Baidya, assistant director of the horticulture department, addressing journalists at Akhaura ICP near Agartala.

Baidya emphasized that the longstanding and profound bond between India and Bangladesh will be further bolstered by this 'token gift.' Last year, the exchange saw a reciprocal gesture from Hasina, who sent mangoes to Saha, demonstrating the enduring ties between the two nations.
