Major Heroin Bust in North Tripura: Two Arrested

Two individuals were apprehended in Dharmanagar, North Tripura for smuggling heroin valued at Rs 2 crore. Acting on a tip, police intercepted a vehicle and discovered over 200 gm of heroin. The narcotics were traced back to Myanmar via the Mizoram border. Investigations continue.

In a significant operation, law enforcement agencies apprehended two individuals in Dharmanagar, North Tripura, with heroin worth approximately Rs 2 crore. The senior police officer disclosed this development on Wednesday.

Acting on specific intelligence, a police team intercepted an unregistered vehicle in the Dharmanagar area. Inside, they discovered over 200 gm of heroin, leading to the arrest of the two suspects, as reported by SP (North district) Bhanupada Chakraborty.

Authorities confirmed the consignment originated from Myanmar and traversed the Mizoram border to reach Tripura’s Sepahijala district. The investigation remains ongoing.
