Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress president, on Monday accused the government of forcibly passing three new criminal laws after suspending 146 MPs in the last Lok Sabha session, describing it as 'bulldozer justice.'
These laws, which came into effect Monday, bring significant changes to India's criminal justice framework, superseding the outdated colonial-era laws.
Kharge's allegations come amidst concerns that the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam were fast-tracked without adequate parliamentary discussion, driving a wedge between the ruling coalition and the INDIA bloc.
