Former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief, Swati Maliwal, has penned a letter to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing his administration of 'systematically dismantling' the women's panel after her resignation.

In a rebuttal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) termed her actions as 'extremely regrettable' and accused her of being a puppet of the BJP. The party stated that her allegations against the chief minister were to obscure her own misdeeds, which have affected Bibhav Kumar.

Maliwal's letter followed an announcement from Delhi Women and Child Development Minister Kailash Gahlot, revealing that the women helpline 181 will henceforth be run by his department, causing a brief transition period of inoperability. The central government has mandated that the helpline be managed by the state’s Department of Women and Child Development.
