Massive Drug Bust: Yaba Tablets Worth Rs 30 Crore Seized in Assam

In a significant anti-narcotics operation, approximately Rs 30 crore worth of Yaba tablets were seized in Assam’s Karimganj district. Two peddlers were arrested as police intercepted their vehicle coming from Mizoram. The operation, conducted at Gandharajbari, successfully recovered 100,000 tablets hidden in a petrol tank compartment.

In a major drug bust, police in Assam's Karimganj district seized Yaba tablets worth around Rs 30 crore and arrested two peddlers, according to senior police officer Partha Protim Das.

The anti-narcotics operation took place in the Gandharajbari area after authorities received specific information about the movement of the drug consignment. Officers intercepted a vehicle from Mizoram and discovered 100,000 Yaba tablets hidden in a special compartment inside the petrol tank.

The arrested individuals were transporting the consignment from Champhai in Mizoram. Yaba tablets, which are a mixture of methamphetamine and caffeine, are highly addictive and potent. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects.
