Two sacks and a bag containing severed body parts have been recovered from a reservoir in Korba district, police reported on Thursday.
Villagers first spotted a floating bag and a haversack in the Bandhapara dam reservoir near Gopalpur village on Wednesday morning and alerted authorities. Inside, severed parts of a leg and a hand were found. Suspecting more body parts were in the reservoir, police called in divers who found a second sack containing a head, a passport, and an Aadhaar card photocopy.
The documents identified the deceased as Mohammad Wasim Ansari, 26, from Ranchi. He had landed in Delhi on July 2, traveled to Daman and Diu, and then to Ranchi. Further investigations are underway.
