BMW Hit-and-Run: Mihir Shah's Shocking Drunk Driving Incident

Mihir Shah, the main accused in Mumbai's BMW hit-and-run case, was under the influence of alcohol during the incident that killed Kaveri Nakhwa and injured her husband. The police have recreated the crime scene for investigation. Shah, along with his driver and father, has been arrested.

Mihir Shah, the main suspect in the BMW hit-and-run case in Mumbai, was confirmed to have been under the influence of alcohol during the tragic accident that claimed one life. A Mumbai police official disclosed this information on Thursday, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges.

In pursuit of more detailed insights into the chain of events, the police probe team reenacted the accident early in the day. They also confronted Shah with his family driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, who was reportedly in the vehicle at the time of the accident on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred around 5:30 am on Sunday on Worli's arterial Annie Besant Road, leading to the death of Kaveri Nakhwa (45) and injuring her husband, Pradip. Shah allegedly fled the scene, dragging the victim with his car for more than 1.5 kilometers toward the Bandra Worli Sea Link.

Shah was apprehended from Virar Phata, located in the neighboring Palghar district, on Tuesday and is currently being questioned by the Worli police team. “Our investigation revealed he was intoxicated during the accident. Reconstructing the crime scene involving the car hitting the two-wheeler and dragging the victim helped us gather more details,” a police official commented.

Shah and his driver were confronted to elucidate the incident further. Mihir, his father Rajesh Shah, and Rajrishi Bidawat are currently under arrest. Mihir Shah is held in police custody till July 16, Bidawat has been remanded to a 14-day judicial custody, while Rajesh Shah has been granted bail.
