The All India Railwaymen's Federation (AIRF) has accused a railway officer, recently arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), of holding late-night parties misusing railway resources during his previous posting.

Vineet Singh, Guntakal Divisional Railway Manager, and four other railway officials were arrested on July 5 for allegedly accepting bribes in awarding several tenders. Shiv Gopal Mishra, General Secretary of AIRF, claimed Singh misused railway employees like gangmen and track maintainers for personal parties while serving as DRM of Sambalpur Division.

Mishra alleged that track maintainers, responsible for rail safety, were diverted for personal tasks, compromising safety norms. Despite complaints, Singh continued his misconduct after being transferred to Guntakal, eventually leading to his arrest by CBI. Mishra urged stricter vigilance over financial decisions, especially with the recent enhancement of financial powers of DRMs. National Federation of Indian Railwaymen's General Secretary M Raghavaiah emphasized the need for integrity in DRM appointments.
