The Bombay High Court provided relief to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by quashing an order from the Bhiwandi magistrate's court. This order initially allowed RSS worker Rajesh Kunte to submit additional documents in a defamation case.
Rajesh Kunte had filed the defamation complaint in 2014, alleging that Gandhi's speech falsely implicated the RSS in Mahatma Gandhi's assassination. A magistrate court later allowed Kunte to submit a transcript of Gandhi's speech from that year.
Justice Prithviraj Chavan annulled the magistrate's decision, instructing the lower court to proceed with the trial as per the new directives. The documents Kunte submitted included a transcript from a live telecast annexed to Gandhi's earlier petition. The court emphasized an expedited trial and cooperation from both parties.
