In a pointed response to Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut's controversial statement requiring Aadhaar cards for appointments, Himachal Pradesh minister Vikramaditya Singh emphasized inclusivity. He stated that public representatives should be open to all constituents, identity cards notwithstanding.

Addressing concerns over accessibility, the state Public Works Minister highlighted that anyone from any part of Himachal Pradesh could approach him without the need for verification. Singh remarked, 'We are representatives of the people, and it is our responsibility to meet people from all sections.'

The debate was ignited by a video where Ranaut justified the Aadhaar mandate due to high tourist influx. She urged that the purpose of visits should be clearly stated to avoid inconvenience.
