Human remains found in two suitcases discovered near a bridge in Bristol are from two adult men, according to police updates on Friday.

The manhunt for a man seen behaving suspiciously before the discovery on Wednesday has intensified. Believed to have traveled from London earlier in the day, the search is now spearheaded by London's Metropolitan Police.

The identities of the victims have not been confirmed, though both are considered adults. One autopsy was inconclusive, and a second post-mortem examination is ongoing.

A crime scene has been established in Shepherd's Bush, west London, with police urging the public to report any sightings of the suspect to emergency services immediately.

“Do not approach him,'' warned Deputy Assistant Commissioner Andy Valentine, leading the Met's investigation.

Police responded to reports of the suspicious man on the Clifton Suspension Bridge around midnight Wednesday, but he had fled by the time they arrived. The historical bridge, opened in 1864, was designed by Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

“We understand this incident has caused significant concern for Clifton residents and those living and working in west London,'' added Valentine. “Extra officers will be patrolling the area, and we encourage anyone with concerns to speak to them.”
