President Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey's 'Claw-Lock' military operation in northern Iraq is approaching its end. Speaking at the National Defence University's graduation ceremony, Erdogan confirmed the plan to 'close the lock' on the operation soon.
Since 2019, Turkish forces have conducted cross-border operations targeting PKK militants in northern Iraq. The PKK, labeled as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States, and the European Union, initiated an armed insurgency against the Turkish state in 1984.
