In a dramatic rescue, a 13-year-old boy named Aritra De was saved from drowning by a local man in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, police confirmed.

The incident occurred while Aritra, from Tollygunge, was visiting his uncle in Kultali. Playing near a pond, he accidentally fell into the water.

His cries for help were answered by Sukumar Haldar, a local resident trained in CPR, who promptly pulled him out and administered life-saving measures. Aritra was later taken to a local doctor for further treatment.
