A Mumbai court on Monday granted bail to YouTuber Banwarilal Gujjar, held last month for allegedly threatening to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan and boasting about links to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The Rajasthan-based YouTuber faced charges of criminal intimidation and breaches of the Information Technology Act. In a video uploaded to his channel, Gujjar purportedly discussed killing Khan and connections to notorious figures like Lawrence Bishnoi and Gold Brar, according to the police.
Authorities suggested that the video was made to boost the channel's viewership. The bail plea, filed by advocate Faiz Merchant, argued that Gujjar had been falsely implicated without proper evidence. It claimed that the video's transcript, mentioned in the FIR, did not include any explicit threat to kill Salman Khan. Judge VR Patil of the Esplanade court accepted Gujjar's bail on Monday.
