The Delhi Police are likely to file the charge sheet in connection with the assault case on AAP MP Swati Maliwal, allegedly by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar, on Tuesday at a local court, according to official sources.
Sources indicate that the police have nearly completed their investigation, preparing to present the over 1,000-page charge sheet against Kumar at Tis Hazari court. Witnesses include security staff from Kejriwal's residence where the alleged incident occurred.
Police have collected the DVR data from Kejriwal's residence and have seized multiple gadgets, including Kumar's two mobile phones, taking him to Mumbai twice to recover allegedly deleted data. Maliwal claims she was assaulted by Kumar on May 13 when visiting the CM's residence. Authorities have booked Kumar under multiple sections, including attempt to commit culpable homicide and assault. The case is being led by a female Additional DCP-level officer. The Delhi High Court denied Kumar bail, citing potential influence on witnesses or tampering with evidence.
