Andhra Pradesh CM Sanctions Compensation for Rape Victims

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has sanctioned financial assistance for two young girls who were victims of rape. A minor girl in Nandyal district was gang raped, and an infant in Vizianagaram was molested. Compensation of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh has been approved for their kin.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh has approved financial compensation for the families of two young rape victims. The first case involves a nine-year-old girl who was allegedly gang raped and thrown into the Mucchumarri Lift Irrigation Canal in Nandyal district on July 7. Despite ongoing searches, her body is yet to be found.

The second incident involves a six-month-old infant who was allegedly molested by a 40-year-old male relative in Vizianagaram district. Both cases have prompted swift action from authorities, with arrests and prosecutions underway. The CM allocated Rs 10 lakh for the minor girl and Rs 5 lakh for the infant.

Police and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel continue efforts to locate the nine-year-old’s body while the accusers in both cases remain in custody and are being processed through the juvenile and criminal justice systems respectively.
