With plans in place for a farmers' protest against the arrest of activist Navdeep Singh, police on Tuesday issued a stern warning of strict action if attempts are made to siege the Ambala Superintendent of Police's office.

Farmers are preparing to 'gherao' the Ambala SP office on July 17 and 18 to demand Singh's release. Singh, arrested in March amid farmers' protests, faces several charges, including rioting and attempted murder.

Ambala SP Surendra Singh Bhauria stated that any farmer participating in the siege or any unauthorized procession will face consequences. Prohibitory orders under section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita have been enforced, and the police plan to videograph the demonstration for later identification of participants.
