Doctors conducting autopsies on the six Bangkok hotel guests who died under mysterious circumstances confirmed cyanide traces in their blood, Dr. Kornkiat Vongpaisarnsin of Chulalongkorn University stated Wednesday while ruling out blunt force trauma.
Thai authorities indicated that one of the victims might have poisoned the others over a failed investment. The guests, a mix of Vietnamese and American nationals, were last seen alive when food was delivered to their room on Monday.
Authorities discovered the bodies at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok on Tuesday. Police chief Lt. Gen. Thiti Sangsawang identified the deceased and assured tourists' safety. Speculations about the motive involve a financial dispute over a hospital investment in Japan.
