Mastermind Behind Rs 44 Lakh Mobile Display Theft Arrested After Two-Year Hunt

The Noida Police have arrested Vikas Dubey, the mastermind behind the theft of mobile phone screens worth Rs 44 lakh in 2021. The arrest was made through electronic surveillance in Gaur City-1. Dubey had been on the run for over two years. The case is still under investigation.

The Noida Police on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old man allegedly involved in the theft of mobile phone screens worth Rs 44 lakh in 2021, officials said. The mobile phone displays were stolen while being transported from a warehouse in the Surajpur area on April 28, 2021, the police stated.

Accused Vikas Dubey alias Dwivedi, the mastermind behind the theft of Samsung mobile phone displays, has been apprehended. This theft, amounting to approximately Rs 44 lakh, occurred at a warehouse near Tilpata. Dubey had evaded capture for more than two years, a police spokesperson confirmed.

On Wednesday, leveraging electronic surveillance, the Surajpur Police officials managed to apprehend Dubey at 7G Avenue, Gaur City-1, the spokesperson added.

An FIR has been registered under sections of theft, forgery, and cheating as per the Indian Penal Code. Further investigations are continuing, the police said.
