The opening ceremony, staged outside a stadium for the first time, will involve 80 boats ferrying international athletes along the river Seine towards the Eiffel Tower.

Konstantinidis, head of planning and coordination, highlighted the massive perimeter and the necessity for extensive security measures given the 300,000 spectators expected. He noted that security plans are dynamic and adapt to recent events, including close collaboration with international security counterparts.

Despite the recent attack on Donald Trump, Konstantinidis confirmed that the security protocol remains unchanged. The French government has raised its security alert to its highest level amid global conflicts and potential threats, including a foiled attack in May linked to Islamic State.
