Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday announced a new scheme for road accident victims, providing cashless treatment facilities and compensation.
In a press conference, Saini revealed that the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had notified a scheme on February 25, 2022, for compensating victims of hit-and-run motor accidents. Following a similar pattern, the Haryana government will provide cashless treatment and compensation for road accident victims.
Accident victims will be taken to the nearest government or private hospitals with expenses covered by the Haryana Road Safety Fund. In case of a fatality, compensation will be given to the next of kin. A district-level committee will ensure scheme implementation.
Additionally, the Mines and Geology department launched an online portal for soil disposal permits to assist farmers and small traders, simplifying permit acquisition.
