Tragic Raid: Accidental Discharge Claims Police Constable's Life
A police constable was killed and a sub-inspector injured during a raid when an inspector’s service weapon accidentally discharged. The incident occurred in a village bordering Bulandshahr district. Senior officials have ordered an investigation into the mishap.

A police constable was killed and a sub-inspector injured when the service weapon of an inspector accidentally discharged during a raid early Thursday, officials reported.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjiv Suman said the Special Operations Group (SOG) and personnel from two police stations undertook the raid to apprehend cattle smugglers in a village near the Bulandshahr district.
Inspector Azhar Hussain's pistol malfunctioned during the operation. As Sub-Inspector Rajiv Kumar was trying to fix the jam, the weapon discharged suddenly. The bullet went through Kumar's abdomen and struck Constable Yakoob in the head, according to the SSP.
Yakoob succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital, while Kumar is currently receiving medical care.
An investigation into the incident has been ordered by the SSP.
