Father Sentenced to 7 Years for Sexual Assault Under POCSO Act
A special court under the POCSO Act sentenced a man to seven years rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting his two minor daughters. The Tamil Nadu government was directed to pay a compensation of Rs three lakh to the victims. The accused, in a drunken state, abused and assaulted his daughters and wife, leading to his conviction.

A special court trying cases registered under the POCSO Act has sentenced a man to seven years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting his two minor daughters. The victims are both under the age of 12.
Special Judge M Rajalakshmi also instructed the Tamil Nadu government to provide a compensation of Rs three lakh to the victims.
The prosecution revealed that the accused, the complainant's husband and biological father of the children, frequently assaulted his daughters while intoxicated. The man also abused and assaulted his wife and children when confronted. Following these incidents, the complainant lodged a police report.
The judge found the accused guilty under section 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and section 498 (A) of the IPC, resulting in a seven-year rigorous imprisonment sentence.
