Heroin Worth Rs 64.4 Lakh Seized in Multiple Mizoram Operations

Four people were arrested with heroin worth Rs 64.4 lakh in three separate operations conducted by the Assam Rifles and the state police in Mizoram. The seizures occurred during patrols at Zokhawthar village and Aizawl's Mission Veng locality. The accused and drugs were handed to the state police.

In a series of coordinated operations, the Assam Rifles along with Mizoram state police apprehended four individuals in possession of heroin valued at Rs 64.4 lakh.

The first operation led to the seizure of 26 grams of heroin worth Rs 18.2 lakh and the subsequent arrest of a local at Zokhawthar village near the India-Myanmar border during a special area-domination patrol.

Another 12 grams of heroin worth Rs 8.4 lakh was confiscated from another local in the same village. Additionally, a significant operation in Aizawl's Mission Veng locality resulted in the capture of 54 grams of heroin worth Rs 37.8 lakh and the arrest of a man and a woman. The suspects and the narcotics have been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.
