Two Government Officials Nabbed for Bribery in Chhattisgarh
Two government officials, Suraj Kumar Nag and Venu Gopal Rao, were arrested in Chhattisgarh for allegedly accepting bribes. Two government officials were arrested on Friday by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Chhattisgarh's Raipur and Dantewada districts for allegedly seeking and accepting bribes.
ACB additional superintendent of police, Chandresh Thakur, identified the arrested individuals as assistant director Suraj Kumar Nag, associated with the Directorate of Health Services in Nava Raipur, and Block Medical Officer Dr. Venu Gopal Rao, stationed in Dantewada.
Nag allegedly sought a bribe of Rs 20,000 for approving a complainant's study leave, while Rao demanded Rs 15,000 from a travel agency owner to clear bills for two vehicles. Both officials were caught red-handed while accepting the bribes and have been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
