Maharashtra Court Extends Custody of IAS Officer's Mother in Land Dispute Case

A court in Maharashtra's Pune district on Saturday extended the police custody of Manorama Khedkar, mother of IAS probationer Puja Khedkar, until July 22 in a criminal intimidation case linked to a land dispute. This follows a video showing her allegedly threatening individuals with a gun in Dhadwali village.
Prosecutor Amar Nanaware indicated that the police had recovered the weapon and vehicle used in the incident. Manorama was apprehended on Thursday morning at a lodge in Hirkaniwadi village.
The police have charged Manorama and her associates under various IPC sections, including attempt to murder, unlawful assembly, rioting, and criminal intimidation, in addition to violations of the Arms Act. The court granted interim protection to her husband, Dilip Khedkar, until July 25.
