Escalation in Gaza: Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Intensifies

The conflict between Israeli forces and Palestinian fighters has intensified in the Gaza Strip, particularly in the city of Rafah. Ongoing battles and airstrikes have led to numerous casualties and displacements. Efforts for a ceasefire, mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and supported by the U.S., remain unsuccessful due to disagreements.

Escalation in Gaza: Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Intensifies

Israeli forces engaged in fierce battles with Palestinian fighters in Rafah, southern Gaza, on Sunday, and targeted central areas where thousands of displaced Palestinians have sought refuge.

Residents in Rafah reported intense clashes between Hamas-led fighters and Israeli forces, with tanks advancing in previous days. The Islamic Jihad and Hamas militant groups claimed fighters used anti-tank rockets and mortar bombs against Israeli forces.

The Israeli military announced the elimination of a group of fighters moving toward them and the destruction of ammunition and infrastructure in Tel al-Sultan, eastern Rafah. Ceasefire efforts led by Qatar and Egypt, backed by the United States, have failed due to mutual blame among combatants.
