Suriya, the estranged wife of IAS officer Ranjeeth Kumar J, has reportedly committed suicide amid ongoing legal battles. She passed away in a Gandhinagar hospital after consuming poison at a garden near her husband's official residence.
A letter addressed to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin was found, in which Suriya claimed she had been falsely accused in two cases. Eight months ago, she left Kumar and stayed with a friend in Tamil Nadu, planning to start a business that never took off after her friend was arrested.
Suriya was wanted for allegedly kidnapping a woman's son for ransom. After being denied entry to her husband's residence, she consumed poison, leaving behind a letter seeking forgiveness from her husband. The police are continuing their investigation.
