Man Arrested in Deadly Hit-and-Run Case on NH-8

The Delhi Police have arrested Dheeraj Talwar in connection with a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the deaths of two people and serious injuries to two others. The incident occurred near pillar number 163 on National Highway-8. An FIR has been lodged, and further investigation is underway.

The Delhi Police have apprehended a man involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident. The vehicle allegedly struck a motorcycle, leading to the deaths of two individuals and critically injuring two others, authorities reported on Wednesday.

Officials identified the suspect as Dheeraj Talwar, whose vehicle has been confiscated. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Rohit Meena explained that on July 22, a PCR call was received about an accident near pillar number 163 on National Highway-8.

Upon arrival at the scene, Delhi Cantonment police officers found evidence of blood. The victims had already been transported to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where Nasreen (35) and her son Azeem (13) were pronounced dead. Nasreen's husband Mehboob (37) and daughter Ayesha (6) are currently receiving medical treatment and are unable to provide statements.

Following the incident, an FIR was registered and an investigation initiated. Police reviewed footage from over 50 CCTV cameras across a 10-kilometre radius. Ultimately, the vehicle and its owner were identified. The owner disclosed that her husband, Dheeraj Talwar, had taken the car out, leading to Talwar's subsequent arrest.
