Violent Attack at Gour Banga University Shocks Campus

A violent incident at Gour Banga University in West Bengal's Malda district left both the victim and attacker in critical condition on Thursday, an official reported. The attacker, a former student, stabbed a female post-graduate student in the neck before attempting to kill himself with the same knife.

Both individuals were urgently taken to Malda Medical College and Hospital for treatment. The attacked student is currently in her second semester in the Mathematics department.

Deputy Registrar Rajib Putitundi stated that the motive behind the shocking attack is still under investigation. Authorities have recovered the knife used in the assault.
