A non-governmental organization (NGO) came to the rescue of a 60-year-old woman who faced harassment from her son over property disputes in Maharashtra’s Latur district. The woman, who has two sons and a 35-year-old married daughter, had been living with her younger son after her husband's death.
The situation worsened when her daughter, facing abuse in her matrimonial home, moved in with her 7-year-old granddaughter. The woman's younger son frequently troubled her, demanding the house be transferred to his name. Sharad Zare, who runs the ‘Majha Ghar Ashram’ in Ausa tehsil for destitute children, stepped in to help.
He provided shelter for the woman, her daughter, and granddaughter at his ashram. Expressing her relief, the woman said, “I suffered a lot of trouble after my husband’s death. I’m happy here,” and thanked Zare and his wife Sangeeta for their support.
