Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair NITI Aayog's 9th Governing Council meeting on July 27, aiming to set India on the path to becoming a developed nation by 2047, according to an official statement released on Friday.
The council, which includes all state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union Territories, and several Union ministers, will discuss strategies for fostering participative governance and collaboration between the Centre and state governments. Modi serves as the chairman of NITI Aayog.
The meeting will focus on the Vision Document for Viksit Bharat @2047, addressing key themes such as drinking water, electricity, health, schooling, and land and property. Recommendations from the 3rd National Conference of Chief Secretaries will also be reviewed.
Special sessions will cover topics like cyber security, aspirational districts, AI in governance, and the role of states. The vision document aims to guide India's growth into a $30 trillion economy by the 100th year of its independence.
However, chief ministers from several states, including Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Delhi, have announced their boycott of the meeting, citing bias in the Union Budget.
