Delhi Tragedy: Criminal Neglect in Rajinder Nagar

Delhi's Lt Governor V K Saxena has directed the divisional commissioner to submit a comprehensive report following a tragic incident at a Rajinder Nagar coaching center. Three civil service aspirants lost their lives due to rain-induced flooding in the basement of the facility.

Expressing deep anguish, Saxena termed the incident as a result of 'criminal neglect' and a lack of 'basic maintenance' by the relevant agencies. He stated that such occurrences in the national capital are 'unfortunate and unacceptable.'

In addition to this incident, Saxena noted that seven citizens have reportedly died from electrocution in recent days, extending his condolences to the affected families. He emphasized the need for accountability from coaching institutions and landlords in ensuring student safety, highlighting this as a reflection of broader issues of misgovernance in Delhi over the past decade.
