Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch and Reasi districts have launched joint search operations after receiving intelligence about suspicious movements, officials said on Sunday.
The forces are on high alert and have urged residents to report any unusual activities in their areas.
A massive joint search operation started early Sunday in multiple areas along the Line of Control (LoC) near the Salotri-Mangnar forward area of Poonch district.
Intelligence indicated suspected movements along the LoC, prompting thorough searches involving Army, CRPF, and Special Operations Group (SoG) personnel. The operation is ongoing, officials reported.
Similar actions were taken in the Reasi district, where a woman reported seeing two suspicious individuals on the outskirts of the Dadoya village, leading to a cordon and search operation by police and security forces.
Dozens of search operations have been conducted in recent weeks following reports of suspicious movements across various districts in the Jammu region.
These operations come in the wake of 15 terror incidents in the Jammu region over the past 50 days, resulting in the deaths of 10 security personnel, including two officers, nine pilgrims, and injuries to 58 others.
