A prisoner from Dausa jail allegedly made a call to the police control room, threatening to kill Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, according to an officer on Sunday.

Inspector General of Police (Jaipur Range) Anil Tank disclosed that the call, made late Saturday night, originated from a prisoner jailed in a rape case. The authorities traced the call to Dausa Jail, subsequently taking the inmate into custody for questioning.

The incident has prompted an investigation into how the prisoner gained access to a mobile phone.
