Delhi Cracks Down on Illegal Coaching Centres Following Tragic Flood Incident

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has initiated action against illegal coaching centres after the flooding of a basement led to the deaths of three civil services aspirants. Over a dozen centres have been sealed, and a high-level committee will investigate the causes and prevent future incidents.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has commenced a strict crackdown on illegal coaching centres, following the tragic deaths of three civil services aspirants due to basement flooding in a coaching institute, an MCD official confirmed on Sunday.

The MCD team sealed around 13 illegally-run basements of coaching centres in Old Rajinder Nagar late Sunday night, acting promptly to ensure safety. Among the sealed centres were IAS Gurukul, Chahal Academy, and Topper's Academy.

A high-level committee will be established to investigate the flooding incident at Rau's IAS Study Circle, where the fatalities occurred. The MCD emphasizes safety compliance to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
