Tragedy in Morena: Two Kanwariyas Dead, 14 Injured in Road Accident

In a tragic incident, two Kanwariyas lost their lives and 14 others were injured when a truck collided with a tractor-trolley in Morena, Madhya Pradesh on Monday, according to local police.
The accident occurred at 5am on National Highway 44, approximately 10 kilometres from district headquarters. Villagers, incensed by the incident, assaulted the truck driver and temporarily blocked the highway, officials said.
"The tractor-trolley was part of the Kanwariya procession, providing support. Unfortunately, Bharat Lal Sharma (37) and Ramnaresh Shrama (26) from the Sihoniya area succumbed to their injuries, while 14 others are currently hospitalised and in stable condition. The roadblock has been cleared," stated Morena Additional Superintendent of Police Anurag Thakur.
A significant number of police personnel have been deployed at the scene to ensure law and order, Thakur added. Kanwariyas are Hindu pilgrims who transport water from the Ganges for 'jal abhishek' during Shravan.
