An Israeli drone strike outside the southern Lebanese town of Shaqra on Monday resulted in the deaths of two people and left three, including a child, wounded, according to Lebanese civil defense authorities.

The rescue service did not specify whether the deceased were combatants or civilians.

This event represents the first lethal Israeli strike on Lebanon following what Israel described as a Hezbollah rocket attack on Saturday that caused 12 fatalities in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Hezbollah has denied involvement in that particular assault.
