Britain Backs Lebanon's Call for Peace Amid Rising Tensions

Britain's Foreign Minister David Lammy expressed support for Lebanon's call to cease all violence in response to an attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights by Hezbollah. In a conversation with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, both officials agreed that the escalation of conflict is unfavorable for everyone.

Britain’s Foreign Minister David Lammy has endorsed the Lebanese government’s appeal for an immediate cessation of all forms of violence. This follows a recent assault on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights attributed to Lebanon’s Hezbollah, according to a statement made after Lammy's conversation with Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

In his post on X, Lammy stated, 'I spoke to Lebanon's Prime Minister @Najib_Mikati today to express my concern at escalating tension and welcomed the Government of Lebanon’s statement urging for cessation of all violence.'

Both Lammy and Mikati concurred that any further broadening of the conflict would not be in anyone's best interest.
